  1. Congratulations on being on the free publicity! On the subject at hand, while the law does state that pets are private property like a vehicle, real estate, jewelry, etc… when you get to the heart of the matter (the pet owners themselves)… they will fight tooth AND nail to get ownership of that dog or cat (in some cases, they fight harder for the pet, than they would for the kids!)

      Yes, although it would be helpful to have some form of legislation to ensure that parties would have the option of deciding on a visitation arrangement with regard to pets.

  3. When both parties are emotionally attached to the family pet, custody of the pet can become a highly contested issue.
